CA. G. Basu, the founder of the firm was the 2nd President of The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India, the 4th President of The Institute of Cost and Works Accountants of India, President of the Bengal National Chamber of Commerce and Industry, President, Federation of Small and Medium Industries, 1st President of The Accountants Library, Kolkata, member of Central Board of Reserve Bank of India, Member of First Board of Directors of IDBI, Chairman of West Bengal Finance Corporation, Vice-President of The Bureau of Industrial Statistics, Distt. Governor, Rotary International Member, Company Law Advisory Commission, Advisory Board of Company Secretaries, Management Accounting Committee, National Productivity Council, Presidential Award Committee, West Bengal Regional Board of Employees’ Provident Fund Scheme, Direct Taxes Central Advisory Committee and Executive Committee of General Insurance Council.

He was also a Member of Committee and Governing bodies of Indian Red Cross Society, K. C. Roy Tuberculosis Hospital, Ramakrishna Mission Seva Pratisthan and other august institutions.

The firm was awarded the'Certificate of Excellence' by the Institute of Economic Studies in its Bangkok Plenum in 2011.
